Graysun, I am working on a new scratchboard piece this very moment. It will be a female companion to my Vlad, he was starting to feel a bit lonely.
Cigaro, I know what you mean. But the truth is, Bram Stoker DID use Vlad Tepes as a model. A highly fantasized model for sure, but a model nonetheless.

spor in continuare cu desenele

piciART, it is scratchboard, not woodcut, but your question makes sense. Scrathboard is basically a white cardboard coated with a black coating. The way you use it is by scratching it with a sharp cutter, to make the white layer appear below the black coating. So basically, the technique is the same as engraving: you create shapes, lights and shadows only by carving lines in the thick medium. And the closer of thicker the lines, the lighter the tone (or rather, the visual impression of the tone, since it is really only black and white, no grey). So working with woodcut would not be much different, technically speaking.
metapuppet ... what does "supidou" mean ? Sorry for the stupid question, but I never read anything like that before !
Best,
Pierre

Sam, many thanks to you. It did not stay #1 for long (the end of the week was the end of it), but still it was nice and encouraging. And I really owe it to the many people who kindly voted for the piece. Many thanks to all, again.
